One thing that stands out to me in your initial post was that you don’t mention contacting them yourself. Especially since chances are it comes down to one person trying to pass off your work as their own rather than some move by the company to claim fanart as their own knowingly. Contact them, ask to know who designed that picture, and then talk to the person claming to have done so.

That this simple step wasn’t taken before posting it as a signal boost is a bit baffling. What reaction did you expect people to have? And what did you expect to be done about it when that most basic of steps wasn’t taken?

I swear, people skip over the most primary things.

I did contact them. I’m awaiting a response. Also what I was expecting was some advice from other artists. I don’t have many followers so I didn’t expect it to become so wide spread and receive 30,000 notes overnight

My painting was created back in 2010, (see it HERE) and since then so many people have expressed their love for it, not just on tumblr, but in many places. At least 9 people had it tattooed on their bodies. It’s one of my favourite images I created at University and I was proud of it in many ways.

Disney have used it on a cosmetics bag HERE (look at the back)
and they have produced a Tshirt HERE with a really similar design clearly modeled from my painting

I’m so mad because I have no chance at getting Disney to do anything about it. I had so much respect for the company and now I am just SO upset and disappointed.

Any help, advice or signal boosting would be amazing. And thank you so much to the kind person who messaged me about this.

To answer a few questions, I’m British, but living and working in Tokyo right now. I have very little money so it’s highly unlikely I can hire anyone to help me out. I appreciate all the ideas and signal boosting.

This is the web address for my new blog that I will be using to document my adventures in Tokyo. I am moving there for at least a year (maybe more!) in March. Not much there at the moment but  I’m sure I’ll have lots to post once I get to Japan. o^^o

So 2012 is almost over! In terms of art it’s been a quiet year for me. I was really happy to see my illustrations feature on the Playful Promises gift tins that came out this year. Thank you again to the staff at Playful Promises!

From January till July this year I was working really hard completing my teacher training, which was very time consuming and stressful.

I had a great holiday in August in the USA and after that I got some extra teaching qualifications so that I could teach abroad and thankfully all the hard work paid off as I got a new job as a teacher starting in March 2013 in Tokyo Japan!

In the later part of this year I also did some really exciting things including:

• Helping my friend and artist Elena/ Yamino at London MCMEXPO on her stall both in May and October.
• Going to DisneyWorld and Universal Studios and getting to act like a kid again! 
• Attending London ‘Hyper Japan’ in cosplay (Sailor Mars)
• Seeing Lady Gaga and Angelspit in concert again.
• Meeting my favourite Korean actor Lee Byung Hun at the London Korean film festival closing Gala.
• Seeing the Kpop group BIGBANG live in London at Wembley arena, which I can honestly say is the best concert I have ever been to. It was AMAZING!

I will still be using this tumblr to post any art I do whilst in Japan. I am sure there will be many exciting places to go sketching!

I will be documenting all my adventures in Japan on a blog which I will set up soon.  I’ve got a really good feeling about 2013 and I can’t wait for it to begin! Happy New Year!

I just wanted to say some people are contacting Disney or other media sites on my behalf and I understand you want to help, but I never asked anyone to contact them for me and don’t want to be held accountable for other people’s comments and opinions etc on the matter if I do have to do something about this. Please refrain from sending Disney any more messages.
